HISTORY & SUCCESS STORIES OF AAT Vietnam
- 2001 AAT is the first NGO in Vietnam to address and develop programs against human trafficking and sexual exploitation: AAT is the first NGO against human trafficking and sex slavery in Vietnam and the first NGO that successfully set up a comprehensive structure for victims, from rescue to community reintegration.
- 2003 National changes : Thanks to our actions, the Vietnamese government officially recognized the existence of Vietnamese involved in human trafficking and its victims as victims instead of criminals.
- 2004 First official repatriation on history: We achieve the first official rescue and repatriation initiated for victims trafficked in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Laos, and in more than 17 countries afterwards.
- 2006 International trade impact: AAT’s project has successfully met ASEAN’s conditions in promoting and facilitating Vietnam’s accession to WTO and APEC.
- 2007 First preventive public education : Set up the first pilot in preventive education project for teenagers in schools and ethnic minorities.
- 2007 medal of honor from Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung : Medal Attributed to Georges Blanchard for his contribution to the development of Vietnam, particularly in the areas of law and the rights of children permitting to ensure their protection. Medal requested for Georges Blanchard by the Ministry of Demography, the Family and of the Children Protection..
- 2008 National Model: Our project is promoted as a “national model” by the Minister of Social Affairs.
- 2010 medal of honor from Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung : Medal Attributed to Georges Blanchard for his contribution to the development of Vietnam, particularly in the areas of law and the rights of women permitting to ensure their protection. Medal requested for Georges Blanchard by the National Women Union.
- 2010 medal of honor from Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung : Medal Attributed to Cao Minh Quyen, AAT Vietnam Program Director for his contribution to the development of Vietnam, particularly in the areas of law and the rights of women permitting to ensure their protection. Medal requested for Cao Minh Quyen by the National Women Union.
- 2011 First action for Vietnamese trafficked in UK: We create the first pilot program for 400 victims of trafficking in England and publish the first scientific research on this issue.
- 2013 medal of honor from Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung : Medal Attributed to Georges Blanchard for his contribution to the Peace and friendship among nation. Medal requested for Georges Blanchard by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (VUFO).
- 2012-2015 Law development: Our project help the creation of five laws in Vietnam and Thailand as the creation of the first law for the suppression of human trafficking in Vietnam.
- 2019: AAT Founder Georges Blanchard Winner of the French Social & Humanitarian Trophy 2019 for Asia-Pacific .
- 2020: AAT Founder Georges Blanchard Winner of the French Social & Humanitarian International Trophy 2020.
AAT Vietnam, the Anti-Trafficking NGO most exposed by Vietnamese media: – AAT has been well-received by Vietnamese media with over 500 broadcasts reaching millions of viewers.
