Country profiles
Due to the complex situation, AAT is divided into two complementary offices. Vietnam is by far the main origin country of women and minors for sex trafficking in the region. AAT Regional Vietnam focuses on building a national model for prevention and reintegration of Vietnamese trafficked victims. It also builds a regional strategy to identify and repatriate Vietnamese women and children back home. Thailand is undeniably the main transit and destination country for Southeast Asian women. AAT Regional Thailand directs its action to detect and protect Southeast Asian victims, especially Lao and Cambodian, found in destination countries in order to assist and organize their safe return. Moreover, it extends its activities to prevention and reintegration in Laos and Cambodia.                                                   Results>>>

Coordination and Development of Mechanisms
AAT participates in the development of mechanisms at regional and national levels. We work with government, international or national non-governmental agencies to develop more efficient mechanisms to prevent, protect, repatriate, and reintegrate women and children. We also implement a regional collaboration system involving government, non-governmental agencies, and groups/volunteers based on referral systems and a multidisciplinary approach. Finally, we develop international networks with the objective to protect and repatriate Southeast Asian victims from other countries
. Development of innovative protection and repatriation mechanisms in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Laos.
. Development of global and pilot regional referral system with government agencies, NGO, and community groups.
